Cost: $5 includes the 4 beers you will consume during your beer mile and another good one for the recovery period.
Location: Holiday Park, multi-purpose field at the back of the park
1150 G. Harold Martin Drive
Fort Lauderdale, FL 33304
Time: 10:30am, Saturday, June 13, 2015
T-Shirt Information:
You have three options:
Cotton: www.customink.com/g/zub0-00a4-h8kd ($14.02 ea)
Ladies' Tech: www.customink.com/g/zub0-00a4-79f0 ($21.95 ea)
Men's Tech: www.customink.com/g/zub0-00a4-h60t ($21.95 ea)
D’erections: Take the Sunrise exit from I-95, and travel east on Sunrise until it merges with Hwy 1. Then take the first right onto G. Harold Martin Drive, and follow the drive past the War Memorial, all the way to the back. Find the screaming beer miler hashers and you are there.
On After will be a potluck BBQ at Holiday Park so that we can all eat a little something and sober up before hitting the road. I’ll provide some hotdogs, but if you want to bring a salad or something else to through on the barbie, then please do!
You may be asking yourself, what, exactly is a beer mile?
A beer mile entails four beers that are consumed immediately preceding a ¼ mile lap. Once the final beer has been consumed, you have one more lap to complete.
So it goes like this:
1. Chug a beer
2. Run a ¼ mile
3. Repeat 3 more times
Should you unfortunately (or, really, fortunately) vomit, you will run a ¼ mile penalty lap for beer wastage (you do not have to drink another beer).
All beers must come from a 12-oz can or bottle without any other adulterations (i.e. no holes or widemouths to increase flow). Beer must also be at least 5% ABV. The beer provided will be PBR and Coors, both American-style lagers (no, Yuengling is not compliant, only 4.4%).
Awards will be given to the winner (racists) and the first in each of the following flavors. In most competitions, "Masters" participants are over 40. Unlike normal running, age is especially brutal and unforgiving on beermilers.
Masters - Age 30 and up
Super Masters - Age 40 and up
Grand Masters - Age 50 and up
Super Grand Hash Masters - Age 60 and up
Clydesdale - Age 35 and up, 200 lbs and heavier
