It's time to open your throats to the possibilities of another beer mile! This winter's beer mile will be held at West Delray Regional Park on Saturday February 6 at 10:00 a.m. (yes, a.m.).
Cost is $5 which includes your four beermile-approved beers and hot dogs care of Coming or Going.
If you don't want to drink the approved beers (PBR and Coors Banquet will be provided), please feel free to bring your own, but bring $1 for ice.
Spectators who wish to partake in the frothy beverages may also do so for $5.
Is this your first beer mile? Here's the rules:
You will first open and consume a 12 oz beer (5% or higher ABV). You will then run 1/4 mile, after which you will open and consume another beer. This will be repeated until you've consumed four beers and run four .25 miles. If you give your beverages back to the grassy earth from which they originated, you do not need to consume another beer, but will need to run another .25 mile penalty lap. The idea is to do this as quickly as possible. The current world record is 4:45, which seems impossible quite frankly.
Directions to West Delray Regional Park: From I-95 or the FL TPK, exit at Atlantic AVE and go west until the very end (past 441). Then turn right to enter the park and look for stretchy hashers. Heats will start at 10:30. See you there!
