Some big guy ran into me in the hall at work and wished me a happy birthday. I said "it's not my birthday". But since he looked somewhat familiar I said "who are you?". Turned out to be poontang (clean cut version). I guess he gets Anal's emails and saw the pics of my birthday pub crawl and he's working at OD now (as is fellow ex-hasher Cum's n Bytes).
Said he met someone at the hash and got married. Still hangs out with Runaway and her husband sometimes. He sends his regards to everyone.
I remember poontang for two things. First he was the first moderator of the Ft Lauderdale Hash Yahoo Club (now group).
2nd this trail he laid through the woods to a big wooden raft he hoped to Huck Finn across the canal with a long pole. But the current was too much for the pole and the raft began to drift AWAY from the beer check. So he jumped in swam us up stream to the beer check pulling the raft with a rope (that was the same hash Mud Man almost didn't get on the raft being so afraid of alligators).
Anyway it was good to see him. Anyone out there remember the boy?

Another stand out for him was the time he was handcuffed and almost arrested at the 1999 Nerd's run for blowing off security and trespassing at the War Memorial Auditorium in Fort Lauderdale.
I think he may have also introduced E.R. to the hash, or did she introduce him???

poontang also was an early victim of the Ft. Lickertail police, being held (and let go, I think) outside the Broward Center for the Perfomring Arts. I think his name was Coontang, though. His name had something to do with a racoon on trail near John Birch Park one night.
He was lots of fun, but fell victim to the hash and marriage hardly ever work together rule.
I hear from Runaway sometimes, and she sounds like she may even show up at a Hash again soon. And with Virgins. ;D

You are probably right about the incident. It probably was War Memorial. I guess my some of my short term memory loss is long term.

Memory loss is right. Were you thinking of John U. Lloyd park, or Hugh Taylor Birch park?
As for Runaway, she was in Key West for the Hemmingway Days Hash.

???OK, it was Birch Park. But I'm still pretty sure his name was Coontang, not poontang, right?

???Thanks for that. Memory or not it is nice to get some respect. Cerially, though, where is the Happy Hur tonight. I thought it was in Boca at Beer World, but see on the Yahoo Ft. Lickertail site that it is scheduled for the Davie Ale House. Do you know what's going on, sir?
