From Virgin Dick:
Virgin dick did a little interview with 97.9 WRMF radio on the Jennifer and Danny radio show, which aired this morning (Friday). I missed it, but they tell me it will air again tomorrow (Saturday) morning at 7-7:30 am, if anyone is interested. Moreover, if someone can record it for the "archives" and so those of us who sleep in on Saturday mornings can hear it, that would be great.
The radio guys seem very interested in joining us for the Talk Like A Prirate Day's Hash on Wednesday, Sept. 19. This seems to really work out as we have scheduled (through Anal Inspector) to have Stenchy Wench and Teflon Willie hare that evening somewhere (south, I hope) in Palm Beach county that evening. I promised to keep the radio folks updated as the info cums clear.

If you want to continue the Pirate themed activity, come the the Fort Lauderdale hash happy hour this Friday at the Pirate Republic on Fort Lauderdael beach around 5:30 - 6:00pm...
The Pirate Republic 234 Almond Ave. Fort Lauderdale, FL 33316-1502 954-779-7677
Decked out like a pirate ship but with all the space of a canoe, The Pirate Republic is a hidden treasure of the Fort Lauderdale beachside bar scene. A trail of stenciled skulls on the sidewalk leads to a meager walkway where skull-and-crossbones flags flap in the wind next to statues of legendary pirates. Legend has it that when pirates flew these Jolly Rogers, it was an invtitation for all to surrender. Here, locals give in to the bartender's command to "walk the plank" before she places thimble-size sake glasses on top of two chopsticks resting on a glass of beer. One the count of three, everyone screams and then bangs their heads on the small wooden bar, and whoever chugs their sake bomb the quickest gets bragging rights and another shot.
Attached to the self-proclaimed "biggest pirate shop in Florida," the bar's interior feels at once like a prop room for The Goonies and a kid-size clubhouse. Darts and a ringtoss game hang on the wall, and pirate jargon tags every inch of space. The raw bar serves shrimp, crab and mussels, and though the bar doesn't serve hard liquor, plenty of beers and variations on sake concoctions provide enough social lubricant.
The Pirate doesn't rely heavily on theme nights simple because, as one staff member explains, "This place is its own beast." Patrons try to compete with the noise level of the neighboring Elbo Room by bursting into raucous sing-alongs and obligatory shouts of "Arr!"
Stop by for: Happy hour 4-7 p.m. every Monday through Friday; drinks, sing-alongs and darts until 2 a.m. Sundays through Thursdays and until 3 a.m. Fridays and Saturdays. Load up on: The pirate splooge shot, made with sake, beer and lime juice topped with a splash of white pina colada mixture, or homemade grogs with names like the wench or the sake colada. Tunes: Journey's "Don't Stop Believin'" and Thin Lizzy's "Jailbreak." Leave the house in: Boy-beater tank tops and low-slug jeans with designer G-strings for the ladies, skull T's and jeans for the guys.
To get there: take I-95 to Broward Blvd. Exit Broward and go east past US1 to 15th ave. Make a right on 15th and go south to Las Olas Blvd. Make a right on Las Olas and continue east over the intracoastal bridge. Find parking in one of the public lots and make your way over to A1A. Look for the walkway just north of the Elbo Room and follow the stenciled skulls to the Pirate Republic Bar.
