Meet at Publix for the hash, 5407 Overseas Hwy (that's mile marker 54) in Marathon Florida USA.
4:00 PM. $5. Cum Again will hare.
It's that Publix near the Sombrero Resort where registration for the race takes place.
Last year we met out front by a shady tree. (But if you don't see us, drive around)

This was in yesterday's bird cage liner. 2007 Bridge run still 'very possible' By Hal Habib
Palm Beach Post Staff Writer
Tuesday, April 04, 2006
Applications for the 25th Seven Mile Bridge Run were available for less than 2 1/2 days when the limit of 1,500 runners was reached. The first-time race director Denise Pankow visited the post office to pick up entries, 225 pieces of express mail were waiting for her.
You could say the cult following for this event is as strong as ever, which is why no one — especially Pankow — is about to let the race die after April 22 if it can be helped. Pankow said Monday that she is "penciling in" April 21, 2007, for the 26th edition of the race from Marathon to Little Duck Key although the campground that serves as the event's staging area has been sold to developers. The hope is that an alternative area can be found for parking and the post-race party, even if it involves busing runners to the starting line at the base of the Seven Mile Bridge.
Pankow said she couldn't estimate the chances that everything will come together, saying only it's "very possible, but there are way too many unknowns we're still dealing with at this time."
Through the years, the race has earned $300,000 for youth activities in the Keys, not to mention millions more in tourist dollars. But it's more than that, Pankow said.
"It's also the camaraderie one time a year," Pankow said of the familiar faces in the field. "We're sure looking at it with a positive attitude that we can keep it going. We just don't know what it's going to take."

We are planning on going out on the Sunset Sail on the Fury Catamaran in Key West around 6:00 Saturday 4/22, would most people prefer to do the combo Snorkel/Sunset sail (5:30) or the sunset only sail (6:30). It's $10 exta for the snorkel option and both include all the beer (or wine) you want

Sunset-only for me and Circumspector. I've seen the fish out at the reef a bunch of times. I even know some of them by name. And this way we'll have more time to spend exploring Key West's various bars.

Let's not forget the hash in Marathon starting at 4:00 PM from the Publix. The hare also promises the beer and a sunset viewing, all for $5, and you don't need to drive all the way to Key West.

From Today's Sun Sentinel...
25 years and running strong Published April 20, 2006
On Saturday, the Marathon Runners Club will celebrate its 25th running of the 7-Mile Bridge Run, knowing that the South Florida race with a cult following probably will not be the last.
The run, started to commemorate the completion of the then-new 7-Mile Bridge, starts on Knight's Key on the east, or Marathon side, of the bridge and ends on Little Duck Key on the west side of the bridge.
To ensure the safety of the 1,500-runner limit (every year 10 times that number applies), vehicular bridge traffic is suspended for the two hours it takes to complete the event.
Supported financially by many local businesses, there were rumors circulating in the running community that this would be the last year because of parking problems, traffic snarls and developments under construction where runners park and congregate.
The organizing committee and city of Marathon officials are expected to meet in about a month to find another staging and parking area and try to rework the logistics to transport runners to and from the start and finish lines, according to a Marathon spokesperson.
Publix will present a special edition 25th anniversary commemorative medal to all registered runners as they finish.
"It's a tradition, and if there's a way, they will keep that race going," said eight-time 7-Mile Bridge winner Paul Marmaro of Delray Beach, who will compete despite running Monday's Boston Marathon.
"I heard there was a big party there and a race broke out," said former Fort Lauderdale runner Jason Bodnar, who ran and won the men's race last year in 35 minutes and 22 seconds. Sonja Friend-Uhl of Wellington won the women's race in 39:22. Both are expected to defend their titles.
"This is what running is supposed to be about -- a celebration of our sport with so many people out here having a good time and experiencing the same thing at 9 o'clock in the morning," Bodnar said.
Entries have been closed for weeks but that doesn't mean a few random runners won't show up to try to compete. The race benefits local youth organizations in Marathon.
